Squirt Major
The Oklahoma City Squirt AA team had a successful trip to Dallas this past weekend winning all three games. The first game against the Ice Jets was tight the whole game. OKC came away with two goals in the last period and found themselves on top at the end of the game 6-4. Later that night they faced the San Antonio Thunder. OKC got off to a fast start 2-0 after the first period and never was threatened. Tight defensive play and solid goaltending limited the Thunder to just 17 shots and one goal. OKC skated away with a convincing 5-1 victory. Sunday was an early wake up call with game time at 8:45. OKC started off hot again with 3 goals in the first period to lead 3-0. It seemed after the fast start the team lost some of its aggressiveness and started to watch the rest of the game. San Antonio cut the lead 3-2 after two periods. On a powerplay the Thunder tied the game up with four minutes left. On to overtime and OKC got the game winning goal to wrap up the season series with San Antonio 3 games to 0. With the victory, OKC now stands 7-4 in league play and jumps to 3rd place in the NTXHL and are now 12-8 on the year. OKC takes on the first place Alliance Bulldogs with two games in Valley Ranch, TX the 19th and 20th. The squirts will be looking for some revenge as they lost a tough one last time out to the bulldogs 6-4 with an empty netter to wrap it up. See you guys there.
